Kate Moss (Katherine Ann Moss) was born 16 January 1974 in Addiscombe, Croydon, London. She is an English model who have appeared on over 50 magazine covers and in magazine spreads. Kate Moss is especially known for her trademark slim figure, prominent cheek bones, high-profile relationships and party lifestyle.

Kate Moss’s Fashion Career

Kate Moss was discovered in 1988 at the age of 14 by Sarah Doukas, at JFK Airport in New York City. She was returning from family holiday in The Bahamas. Her career began when Corinne Day shot black-and-white photographs of her, styled by Melanie Ward, for British magazine The Face when she was 16. The photoshoot was titled “The 3rd Summer of Love”. Kate Moss was names “anti-supermodel” of the 1990s in comparison to “supermodels” such as Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell and Claudia Schiffer. However, she was voted 9th in Maxim’s “50 Sexiest Women of 1999″ and 22nd in FHM’s “100 Sexiest Women of 1995″. In 1996 Kate Moss worked on Calvin Klein campaign nicknamed “Heroin Kids” with Chay White, Dolce Lauren, Michelle Duffy, Trey Ridley and Dante LaTreche. It was her – so called – “waif” period. In September 2005 her working partners H&M, Burberry Prorsum, H Stern and Chanel fired her from the contract due to her cocaine scandal.

Kate Moss is known for her high-profile relationships. During the 1990s, she had relationships with Mario Sorrenti and Johnny Depp whom she was engaged to. Then Kate and boyfriend Jefferson Hack (the Dazed & Confused editor) welcomed a child daughter Lila Grace on September 29, 2002. In September 2005 she got engaged to rock-singer Pete Doherty whom she met at her 31st birthday party in January 2005. Kate Moss’s friendship with best friend Sadie Frost ended because Frost didn’t approve of Kate’s relationship with Pete. She got engaged, again, to Pete Doherty in October, 2006. Since 2009 she has been romantically linked to Jamie Hince, guitarist for The Kills. The couple got engaged in 2011.
